I was raised in Monroe and moved to Baton Rouge to attend LSU. I was then accepted into LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, where I graduated in 2008. Following graduation, I worked in several small animal practices in the area. In 2013, my beloved Boston Terrier, Sophie, developed a brain tumor, and her quality of life began to suffer. I euthanized her at home in her bed, and while it was one of the most difficult things I have ever had to do, it was also beautiful. She was never scared or stressed. She was able to peacefully drift off while surrounded by her family who loved her. Immediately following this experience, I began seeking a way to offer this service to other families. For the last 10 years, I have provided in-home services to help guide families in determining quality of life, navigating palliative care and end-of-life decisions, and helping them say their final goodbye.
